Meet other teens online

Meet Other Teens Who Get You

Sometimes the people around you at school just aren't your people. MyLOL is where you meet other teens online through the things you're into — a band nobody local listens to, a game you're deep in, a hobby that needs explaining.

Every member of the teen community is 13–17. Adult members are in a completely separate community and can't reach you here.

  • Group and one-to-one chat
  • You control who can contact you

Where you actually meet people on MyLOL

There's no swipe deck. New conversations come from four places, and all four work better than a cold message.

  • Interest groups

Music, gaming, anime, film, art, photography, books, sports, tech, fashion, food and just-chatting rooms. Post, reply, get known.

  • The chronological feed

Posts from your friends in time order. Comment on something and you've started talking to whoever else is in the thread.

  • Profiles

Themes, photos, about-me and profile music tell you what someone's like before you say hello.

  • Guestbooks and Shouts

Short public messages are the lowest-pressure way to say hi to someone new.

How to open a conversation without it being awkward

The trick isn't confidence. It's having a reason. Every good opener on MyLOL points at something specific.

  1. 1Find the detail: their profile song, a post in a group, a photo album, an opinion you disagreed with.
  2. 2Say what you noticed in one line. "Your profile song is on my repeat list too" already beats "hey".
  3. 3Ask one question that isn't yes/no — what else they'd recommend, how they got into it, what they thought of the ending.
  4. 4Match their energy. If they write two words, don't send five paragraphs.
  5. 5If it doesn't go anywhere, that's fine. Most conversations don't, and it isn't a verdict on you.

Who you'll meet here

Teen MyLOL skews toward people who wanted the older, weirder, friendlier internet back — pages with personality, songs on profiles, groups instead of feeds.

That includes plenty of people who describe themselves as bad at this. Nobody here is expecting you to be a personality. Being specific about what you like is enough.

Set up your profile before you start messaging

Meeting people is two-directional. If your page is empty, people can't tell whether they'd get on with you.

Spend five minutes: pick a theme, add one clear photo, write two sentences that are actually about you, set a profile song and join a couple of groups. Then start talking. The replies come far more easily.

Keep new connections online

Meeting other teens online is not the same as meeting them in person, and at 13–17 the online part is where it should stay.

Don't arrange to meet someone you met online, and don't share your school, address, phone number or live location. If anyone pushes for any of that — or asks you to move to another app where reporting and blocking don't exist — block them and report it. If you're ever unsure, talk to a parent or guardian.

Safety

Meeting people safely

The community is designed so that the safest option is also the easiest one.

  • Age-separated

Teen members 13–17 and adult members 18+ are in completely separate communities.

  • Checked at sign-up

Age assurance runs before a new member can take part.

  • Moderated profiles

Profile details and photos are subject to moderation, and anything reported is reviewed by our team.

  • One-tap block

Blocking ends contact immediately, no explanation needed.

  • Report anywhere

Profiles, messages, comments, photos and group posts can all be reported.

  • No public profiles

Member pages sit behind the account wall — there is no public directory for strangers to browse.

No online community can promise perfect safety, and we do not claim to. What we can do is reduce risk with real controls, act on reports, and be clear about how the community works.

Questions about meeting teens online

How do I meet other teens online safely?
Use a community that separates teens from adults, keep personal details out of early conversations, keep the friendship online, and report or block anyone who pressures you.
Do I have to post to meet people?
No, but replying helps a lot. Commenting in a group is the easiest first step and doesn't require anything of your own.
Can I meet teens with my exact interests?
That's what groups are for. Join the rooms that match what you're into and you're meeting people who already care about the same thing.
Is anyone here over 18?
Not in the teen community. Members 18 and over use the separate adult community and cannot interact with teen members.

Make your profile, join a group, and reply to one post. That's the whole formula, and it works better than any algorithm.

Teen MyLOL is for ages 13–17. Teen and adult communities are completely separate.
